Try making some firework art this Fourth of July!

Happy 4th of July!

If you’re looking for an easy summer craft idea to celebrate the 4th of July, check out this cute firework art method using drinking straws! It’s perfect for the kiddos and you probably already have all the supplies needed to make an inspiring masterpiece at home.

Honestly, this DIY is just so darn fun and simple that I think even your older kids would enjoy making it, especially once they see the finished piece. Everyone will be so impressed with the way your designs turn out. They probably won’t believe you when you tell them you only used four supplies, and you probably already have them in your home!

        1

Tape together about six drinking straws with the bendy ends facing outward.

2

Dip the bendy ends in paint, and “stamp” down on paper. You may have to use your other hand to push each straw all the way down. Do this multiple times overlapping fireworks on the paper.

3

Next, do the same process while switching colors and going over the same fireworks you stamped with the first color.

4

Set aside, and let the paint dry. Enjoy your new artwork!

Take this design to the next level!

My daughter loved this easy firework art idea so much that we ended up painting fireworks using acrylic paint on a plain cotton canvas bag. It turned out to be a cute and colorful way to embellish a bag that she can use for summer camp or a trip to the library!

You can also have your kids create their own firework art on white T-shirts if they want something festive to wear for the 4th of July! No matter what you decide, it’s the perfect design to showcase this summer. 🎇

You won’t believe we snagged these festive Fourth of July decorations at the Dollar Tree!

Try making some firework art this Fourth of July!
